Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Mammography Technologist to join our team at Riverside Medical Clinic. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for performing mammography procedures and providing exceptional patient care.

Responsibilities
  • Assist patients in preparation for mammography procedures, explaining the process and ensuring their comfort and understanding.
  • Perform mammography exams using correct positioning, shielding, equipment, and technical factors, adhering to strict quality control standards.
  • Utilize PACS systems to acquire and store radiology images, ensuring accurate patient demographics and image documentation.
  • Critique images and complete documentation in the PACS network and electronic radiology order, ensuring timely and accurate availability for radiologist interpretation.
  • Operate mammography equipment to perform diagnostic procedures, maintaining equipment and reporting any malfunctions to the Service Area Leader.
  • Escort patients, ensure proper clothing and draping, and provide clear instructions during procedures.
  • Complete each mammogram, evaluate clinical images according to the American College of Radiology standards, and ensure accurate patient history is provided to the radiologist.
  • Assist with medical audits, patient abnormality follow-up, and quality control programs, adhering to MQSA and FDA protocols.
  • Practice hand hygiene, infection control, and isolation procedures, maintaining a safe and clean environment.
  • Participate in departmental quality improvement activities, contributing to the development and implementation of new procedures and protocols.
Requirements
  • Associate's Degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, and one year related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Mammography Certificate/License required, ARRT, and current AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professional (AHA BLS Healthcare) certification.
