ABOUT GENERAL MERCHANDISE
Our team of operations experts ensures a seamless experience for our guests by maintaining product availability, accurate pricing, and proper signage throughout the store. The General Merchandise and Food Sales team oversees inbound and outbound processes, inventory accuracy, and presentation for all General Merchandise (GM) areas. This team also manages Food & Beverage and Food Service, ensuring a fresh and safe experience for our guests.
As a Logistics Specialist, you will gain:
- Insight into guest service principles and experience in fostering a guest-first culture.
- Understanding of retail fundamentals, including sales trends, inventory management, and process optimization.
- Experience in executing daily tasks to meet business objectives and achieve sales targets.
- Creating a welcoming atmosphere by greeting all guests sincerely.
- Observing guest behavior to assess their needs and tailoring your approach accordingly.
- Engaging with guests authentically, asking questions to better understand their requirements.
- Being knowledgeable about store tools, products, and services to assist guests effectively.
- Expressing gratitude to guests and ensuring they feel valued for choosing Target.
- Executing precise and efficient sorting operations.
- Restocking and organizing products on the sales floor.
- Maintaining product availability for GM categories.
- Operating power equipment safely and responsibly.
- Working with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Managing defective items and adhering to environmental regulations.
- Promoting a culture of ethical conduct, safety, and compliance.
- Identifying and correcting hazards to maintain a safe work environment.
- Supporting guest services such as backup cashier and order pickup.
- Performing additional duties as needed based on business requirements.
