The Henry Ford operates multiple dining establishments, including the distinctive experience at Eagle Tavern in Greenfield Village. Contribute to crafting fresh, farm-to-table cuisine in partnership with local producers, while showcasing the stories of family farms and organic ingredients in innovative ways. There are also opportunities to cater private events within our venues.
The role of Server at Eagle Tavern entails delivering daily dining services in a historically themed setting from the 1850s.
Key Responsibilities:- Prepare the venue for daily operations, including setting up tables and completing necessary preparations.
- Ensure the dining area is properly arranged prior to guest arrivals.
- Provide exceptional service to guests.
- Have a thorough understanding of menu items and effectively communicate with guests, including accommodating special dietary needs.
- Offer guests an authentic historical dining experience.
- Prepare and serve beverages.
- Professionally serve meals and beverages, efficiently clear tables, and uphold cleanliness standards.
- Handle cash transactions, understand pricing, and interact courteously with guests and colleagues.
- Maintain cleanliness of the workstation and comply with health and sanitation regulations.
- Perform closing duties and care for historical uniforms.
- Properly handle equipment and adhere to departmental policies.
- Act as a supportive team member and share expertise with the team.
- Exercise sound judgment in guest interactions and promptly report any issues to management.
- Must be at least 18 years old with prior serving experience.
- High school diploma is preferred.
- Flexible availability, including weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
- Completion of or willingness to complete alcohol awareness training.
- Customer service-oriented with a hospitable demeanor.
- Availability during daytime hours on weekdays and weekends.
- Personable and team-oriented.
- Enthusiastic with strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Self-motivated, familiar with suggestive selling techniques, and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
