- Patient Empowerment: Support and empower patients and their families as they navigate the healthcare continuum, from health promotion to end-of-life decisions.
- Advocacy and Resource: Advocate for patients' rights, providing counsel and acting as a resource to resolve issues and promote patient empowerment.
- Cultural and Spiritual Needs: Anticipate and address the ethical, spiritual, and cultural needs of patients, intervening to maximize patient outcomes and coordinate healthcare services.
- Documentation and Quality Improvement: Document patient care activities and contribute to related performance improvement initiatives, ensuring high-quality care and patient safety.
- Education and Professional Development: Identify learning needs, develop professional goals, and seek opportunities for education and professional growth, collaborating with healthcare teams to achieve desired outcomes.
- Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited school of nursing. Associate Degree (ADN) holders must complete BSN within 5 years of start date.
- Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider Certification required.
- Licensure: Registered Nurse (RN) licensed or eligible to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
- Experience: 2 years of acute care experience.
