Position Overview:
As an Associate Budget Analyst, you will play a vital role in assisting the team with the formulation and oversight of the operational budget. Your responsibilities will include conducting thorough analyses, evaluations, and preparations of budgetary and management services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the preparation and administration of the annual operating budget.
  • Review and assess budget requests and cost estimates to support budget development.
  • Address budget-related inquiries and communicate policy or procedural changes to budget representatives.
  • Perform data entry tasks and update information within the financial management system.
  • Create visual representations such as charts, tables, and graphs for inclusion in budget documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with financial reporting standards and procedures for all governmental grants.
  • Conduct benchmarking studies and surveys of comparable governmental entities to identify best practices.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution.
  • High School Diploma or GED with four years of relevant budgeting experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Essential Skills and Attributes:
  • Understanding of fundamental financial principles and practices related to budgeting and budget analysis.
  • Ability to work independently with precision and attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Competence in policy analysis and program evaluation concerning funding priorities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Capability to perform data collection, synthesis, analysis, and reporting to support functional areas.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with team members to enhance accuracy in analysis.
  • Familiarity with standard analytical practices for conducting studies and adopting innovative methods.

Physical Requirements:
Primarily sedentary work, involving minimal physical exertion, with occasional walking or standing required.

Veteran's Preference:
Preference is granted to honorably discharged Veterans in the application process. Veterans must identify themselves on their application and provide original discharge papers during the interview.
