Conservation Assistant

Join the Cortland County team as a Conservation Aide and contribute to the preservation of our natural resources. This role is part of the Cortland County Soil and Water Conservation District and involves assisting with various technical duties related to land and water conservation on public and private properties.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the establishment of conservation practices concerning land and water on public and private properties.
- Support other staff with projects, programs, and outreach related to natural resource conservation.
- Work under the direct supervision of the District Manager and perform related duties as required.
Requirements:
- Graduation from high school or possession of a NYS equivalency diploma.
- Possession of a valid NYS Driver's License.
Scope of the Examination:
This test is designed to evaluate knowledge, skills, and/or abilities in the following areas:
- Understanding and interpreting written material.
- Reading and interpreting maps, plans, charts, and graphs.
- Collection, analysis, and presentation of data.
