Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare all meals according to established menus in a safe and sanitary manner under the guidance of the food services director.
• Ensure accurate preparation, portioning, and serving of food based on standardized recipes.
• Maintain high standards of food quality in accordance with established recipes and menus.
• Adhere to all safety and sanitation protocols.
• Prepare meals promptly at designated times.
• Address any community concerns that arise in the dining area.
• Follow departmental procedures regarding sanitation, safety, and cleaning schedules.
• Maintain proper cleaning and storage practices for all kitchen equipment and utensils.
• Label and date all food items in storage areas.
• Oversee proper food handling to prevent contamination and reduce waste.
• Propose menu or recipe adjustments to utilize surplus ingredients effectively.
• Ensure cleanliness of all food service equipment and kitchen areas.

Qualifications:

• Demonstrated experience as a cook.
• Knowledge of sanitation and safety regulations.
• Proficient in meal preparation according to guidelines.
• Adept in using various cooking tools and appliances.
• Strong communication skills and a friendly demeanor.
• Good physical condition and stamina.
• High school diploma or equivalent; certification in food services is advantageous.
• Must pass a criminal background check.
