Job Title: Temporary Full-Time Housekeeper

This is a unique opportunity to be part of our team at the Anchorage Motor Inns of York in York Beach, ME.

We are seeking 12 temporary full-time housekeepers to work from March 1st to December 5th, 2025. The hourly rate for this position is $17.13 per hour, with the possibility of overtime at $25.70 per hour.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Retrieve and transport allocated supplies to designated areas.
  • Filling carts with supplies and transporting them to assigned areas.
  • Enter guest rooms, following procedures for gaining access and ensuring vacancy before entering.
  • Replace guest amenities, supplies, linens, and towels in all rooms.
  • Making beds and cleaning bathrooms.
  • Remove trash, dirty linen, and service items.
  • Check appliances and ensure they are present and in working order.
  • Straighten desk items, furniture, and appliances, dusting, polishing, and removing marks from walls and furnishings.
  • Vacuum carpets in guest rooms and hallways.
  • Mop, sweep, or polish common areas; dispose of trash and clean common areas, including lobbies and restaurants.
  • Clean and fold laundry if needed.
  • Follow company and safety policies and procedures; report any maintenance problems; complete necessary training; properly store materials.
  • Evaluate uniform and personal appearance to ensure they are clean and professional; maintain confidentiality of proprietary information.

The candidate must be able to lift, carry, walk, sit, push, pull, and move continuously during work hours. Some areas of the Inn are accessible only by stairs. Must be able to lift and/or carry up to 40 lbs.

Additional Requirements:
  • Cleaning and sanitizing requirements may be updated due to COVID-19 requirements and industry best practices.
  • No educational experience is required.
  • No work experience is required.
  • The employer will use a single workweek as its standard for computing wages due and workers will be paid weekly.
  • Optional housing may be available, and the employer can assist in finding housing. If elected, the weekly rate may vary from $85 to $200 depending on the type and style.
  • If the employee chooses to utilize these services, they will be payroll deducted. If elected, a housing deposit can be paid by deduction.
  • The employer will make all deductions from the worker's paycheck required by law.
  • The employer will reimburse employees for all visa, visa processing, border crossing, and other related fees, including those mandated by government, incurred by the H-2B worker in the first work week.
  • The employer will pay for daily subsistence at least $15.88 per day during travel to a maximum of $59.00 per day with receipts.
  • The employer will provide workers at no charge all tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform the job.
Benefits and Work Environment:

Shifts will vary based on business demands, and the hotel is open seven days a week. Typical work hours are 9:00 am to 2:00 pm but may vary based on business needs. Evening shifts, rotating shifts, and/or split shifts may be necessary.

Applicants must be able to work at least a 5-day work schedule, which will include weekends and holidays. Must be able to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

The employer guarantees to offer work for hours equal to at least 50% of the workdays in each 12-week period of the total employment period.

If the worker completes 50% of the work contract period, the employer will, in the next pay cycle, reimburse the H-2B worker for transportation and subsistence costs from the place from which the worker has come to work for the employer to the place of employment, as required by 20 CFR 655.18(b)(12).

Upon completion of the work contract or where the worker is dismissed earlier, the employer will provide or pay for workers' reasonable costs of return transportation and subsistence back home or to the place the worker originally departed to work, except where the worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer.

The amount of transportation payment or reimbursement will be equal to the most economical and reasonable common carrier for the distances involved.
