Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Physical Therapist Assistant to join our team at Houston Methodist Cypress Hospital. As a member of our direct patient care team, you will provide patient treatments under the direction of a Licensed Physical Therapist and perform routine physical therapy treatments and procedures from basic to moderate complexity as established by the plan of care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provides patient treatments under the direction of a Licensed Physical Therapist
  • Performs routine physical therapy treatments and procedures from basic to moderate complexity
  • Works with team members to monitor and adjust activities to ensure optimum patient throughput and patient experience
  • Guides and mentors other Physical Therapist Assistants, Technicians, and students to help build confidence in skills, knowledge, and abilities
  • Teaches, orients, and precepts new Physical Therapists and Technicians
  • Collaborates with all members of the patient care team by actively communicating and reporting pertinent patient care information and data in a comprehensive manner
Requirements
  • Graduate of an education program approved by the credentialing body for the required credential(s)
  • 2 years of experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant preferred; may consider new graduate or entry-level Physical Therapist Assistant
  • PTA - Physical Therapist Assistant - State Licensure within 90 days OR PTA-Temp - Physical Therapist Assistant Temporary - State Licensure within 90 days
  • BLS - Basic Life Support (AHA)
