Job Overview

The Ophthalmic Technician will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support in our outpatient ophthalmic clinic. As a member of our team, you will work closely with ophthalmologists, orthoptists, and residents to administer diagnostic tests, prepare and administer eye medications, and provide eye care and contact lens information to patients.

Responsibilities
  • Gather patient information and review medical records
  • Utilize medical record system to update patient information and medical record
  • Administer diagnostic tests
  • Prepare and administer eye medications
  • Provide eye care and contact lens information to patient
  • Maintain and clean ophthalmic instruments
  • Assist providers in basic patient procedures
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A high school diploma
  • 1 year of work experience as an Ophthalmic Technician, preferably in a pediatric setting
  • BLS/CPR certification from the American Heart Association with at least 6 months left before expiration
