Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Sterile Processing Technician to join our team at MMC Group. As a key member of our Sterile and Materials Processing Department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest standards of patient care and safety.

Responsibilities
  • Inspect, assemble, package, and sterilize surgical instrument pans, procedural trays, technical equipment, and surgical case carts
  • Operate steam sterilizers, checking time, pressure, and temperature gauges to ensure proper levels
  • Perform simple maintenance of sterilizers, including cleaning drain baskets
  • Assure sterility is achieved by preparing cultures, reviewing test packs processed, and interpreting results
  • Check and adjust medical equipment to ensure instruments and equipment are operating according to specifications
  • Decontaminate surgical instruments and equipment, preventing cross-contamination
  • Set up decontamination equipment for operation, clean and disinfect equipment and work area upon completion of shift
  • Receive and store supplies from outside vendors and Hospital areas, checking stock against requisitions and documenting discrepancies
  • Document and fill orders for surgical supplies for patient care areas, delivering supplies when warranted
  • Maintain records of equipment inventory use, frequency of servicing, and equipment not meeting specifications
Requirements
  • Certified Sterile Processor (HSPA or CBSPD)
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as SPT
  • Large hospital experience (500 bed plus)
  • Must have travel experience (6 months)
  • 2 professional references from last two experience
