Overview
At Cooper University Health Care, our medical-surgical unit, Kelemen 8, provides care for patients with diverse diagnoses, illnesses, and disease processes. Our unit is equipped with telemetry capabilities, allowing us to closely monitor our patients' conditions. With frequent admissions and discharges, our team works efficiently to ensure seamless care transitions.
Unit Details
Kelemen 8 can accommodate a total of 77 patients, with 37 beds on the North side and 36 beds on the South side. We have two negative pressure rooms with an anti-room, ensuring a safe environment for our patients.
Supportive Care
Our team is committed to providing exceptional care. A pharmacist is available to assist our Registered Nurses (RNs) with medication-related questions and concerns. Multidisciplinary rounds take place every Monday through Friday, involving the entire healthcare team, including the patient and family.
Responsibilities
- Under the direction of an RN, assist patients with activities of daily living and contribute to their plan of care.
- Communicate effectively with the healthcare team, patients, and their families or significant others.
- Maintain high standards of professional ethics.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- At least one year of patient care experience in a similar role.
- Completion of a fundamental nursing course in an accredited RN Program.
- Successful completion of an unlicensed healthcare provider/technician program.
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
Certifications and Training
You will be required to obtain AHA Basic Life Support certification and successfully complete EKG and Phlebotomy training during orientation.
