As a Travel X-ray/Radiology Technologist, you will have the opportunity to work in various healthcare settings, including hospitals and medical facilities, and contribute to the diagnosis and treatment of patients.
Job Summary:The successful candidate will perform diagnostic imaging procedures, including X-rays and other medical imaging tests, to assist in the diagnosis of patient illness. You will work closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and timely results.
Responsibilities:- Perform diagnostic imaging procedures, including X-rays and other medical imaging tests
- Locate and record internal elements of the body, and identify any anomalies indicative of disease, injury, or other medically significant conditions
- Adjust equipment and calm patients to eliminate test artifacts
- Monitor patients for potentially dangerous physical and emotional changes
- Evaluate test results for clarity and accuracy
- Review tests with peers and physicians
- Inform physicians of preliminary findings as requested
- Distribute completed test results to physicians and service providers
- Prepare diagnostic information for physician interpretation
- Maintain patient charts, enter diagnosis and billing codes, log data into patient information systems, and update file systems for tests performed
- Clean and sterilize equipment and workspace
- Recognize equipment malfunctions and readjust equipment or write referrals for repair
- Instruct patients in pretest preparation, answer questions, and explain procedures
- Comply with hospital and departmental policies and procedures
- Maintain equipment according to Infection Control procedure
- Maintain technical competency through continued education and participation in training programs
- Administer contrast agents according to site-specific protocols
- Maintain current Permits to Practice in all states in which services are performed
- Perform equipment quality checks and troubleshoot problems
- Make calls for service and notify all pertinent team members
- Follow quality assurance guidelines and maintain patient confidentiality
- Perform additional duties as required
- Hospital setting background with a minimum of 1 year or 2 years of clinical experience required, specifically in ER, OR, Trauma, and Portables
- Valid ARRT license, registered in Radiography
- Valid CPR certificate
- State license (will consider candidate that doesn't have this, if willing to obtain)
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal needed
- Ability to interact with client personnel and team members in an autonomous, responsible, professional, and ethical manner
- Must be flexible, reliable, and demonstrate sound judgment and initiative
