As a Primary Care Physician with Optum, you will have the opportunity to advance the health of your community while contributing new practice ideas and initiatives that can help improve care for millions of patients across the country.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Examining, diagnosing, and treating patients for acute injuries, infections, and illnesses
  • Counseling and educating patients and families about acute and chronic conditions or concerns
  • Documenting patient information, including chief complaint, past medical history, family and social history, review of systems, examinations, medications, allergies, assessment, and plan
  • Formulating diagnostic and treatment plans
  • Prescribing and administering medications, therapies, and procedures
  • Ordering lab and imaging tests to determine and manage an immediate treatment plan and providing advice on follow-up
  • Coordinating care with specialists and ancillary services
  • Completing all documentation and paperwork in a timely manner

Required qualifications include:

  • An active and unrestricted Arizona medical license
  • Board certification in Family Medicine
  • A current and unrestricted DEA certificate
  • Effective communication skills
  • Outstanding organization skills and ability to multi-task
  • Taking initiative, being creative, having problem-solving ability, being adaptable, and flexible
  • The ability to work without direct supervision and practice autonomously
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced environment
