Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled MRI Technologist to join our team at the University of Rochester. As an MRI Technologist, you will be responsible for setting up and operating MRI equipment, evaluating image quality, and identifying and compensating for imaging artifacts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate MRI equipment, including imaging coils, patient monitoring systems, and related articles.
  • Evaluate image quality by troubleshooting scanner or coil problems and scan parameters.
  • Identify and compensate for imaging artifacts.
  • Review MRI registration and screening form thoroughly to confirm safe access into magnet room.
  • Assist in training new MRI technologists and students.
  • Perform all filming, archiving, and PACS network data management for each patient scanned.
  • Retrieve old MRI data for restoration and filming or networking.
  • Maintain CE credits and ARRT/NYS license.
  • Communicate all pertinent patient information to necessary staff.

Requirements:

  • Completion of formal training in an approved School of Radiologic Technology.
  • Maintains current NYS licensure and ARRT certification with CE credits as required.

Working Conditions:

This position requires working in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions. The MRI Technologist must be able to lift and move equipment as needed and work in a confined space.
