Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Civil Engineer I to join our growing team. This position will work closely with senior engineers, project developers, project managers, and engineering consultants to assist in reviewing, designing, and permitting community and utility-scale solar PV, wind, or energy storage projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct site due diligence, research bylaws, and draft civil consultation memos.
  • Complete site visits and conduct site walk checklists.
  • Prepare site plans for submission to authorities having jurisdiction.
  • Analyze and prepare stormwater management reports using HYDROCAD.
  • Prepare stormwater pollution prevention plan documentation and submit eNOIs.
  • Assist in developing standard details, notes, and specifications, and review design drawings.
  • Coordinate the proposal and work of our survey partners.
  • Coordinate consultant works such as wetlands delineation, cultural and historical specialists, arborists, etc.
  • Accompany senior engineers to meetings with local planning/zoning boards and state agencies.
Requirements
  • BS or MS in Civil Engineering from an accredited engineering program or equivalent.
  • EIT certificate or on-track to take the Fundamentals of Engineering exam.
  • 1-2 years of experience; recent engineering graduates with internship or COOP experience are encouraged to apply.
  • Experience with AutoCAD; Civil 3D is desired but not required.
  • College coursework in hydrological modeling; HYDROCAD experience preferred.
  • Familiarity or experience with field surveying and/or ecological surveys.
  • High energy, resourceful, and organized with the ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Ability to work in ad-hoc teams and take direction.
  • Ability to occasionally visit project sites for pre-development evaluations.
  • Ability to occasionally drive to evening meetings of project-approving authorities.
  • Solid written, oral communication, and analytical skills.
  • Passionate about renewable sources of energy.
