Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Civil Engineer I to join our growing team. This position will work closely with senior engineers, project developers, project managers, and engineering consultants to assist in reviewing, designing, and permitting community and utility-scale solar PV, wind, or energy storage projects.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct site due diligence, research bylaws, and draft civil consultation memos.
- Complete site visits and conduct site walk checklists.
- Prepare site plans for submission to authorities having jurisdiction.
- Analyze and prepare stormwater management reports using HYDROCAD.
- Prepare stormwater pollution prevention plan documentation and submit eNOIs.
- Assist in developing standard details, notes, and specifications, and review design drawings.
- Coordinate the proposal and work of our survey partners.
- Coordinate consultant works such as wetlands delineation, cultural and historical specialists, arborists, etc.
- Accompany senior engineers to meetings with local planning/zoning boards and state agencies.
- BS or MS in Civil Engineering from an accredited engineering program or equivalent.
- EIT certificate or on-track to take the Fundamentals of Engineering exam.
- 1-2 years of experience; recent engineering graduates with internship or COOP experience are encouraged to apply.
- Experience with AutoCAD; Civil 3D is desired but not required.
- College coursework in hydrological modeling; HYDROCAD experience preferred.
- Familiarity or experience with field surveying and/or ecological surveys.
- High energy, resourceful, and organized with the ability to manage multiple projects.
- Ability to work in ad-hoc teams and take direction.
- Ability to occasionally visit project sites for pre-development evaluations.
- Ability to occasionally drive to evening meetings of project-approving authorities.
- Solid written, oral communication, and analytical skills.
- Passionate about renewable sources of energy.
