Allen Marine Inc is seeking a skilled Marine Diesel Mechanic to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance crew, you will be responsible for performing repairs and maintenance on our marine diesel engines and related equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair marine diesel engines and related equipment
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, including oil changes and filter replacements
- Assist with the maintenance of company vehicles and equipment
- Work collaboratively with the Port Engineer and Operations Manager to ensure efficient and effective maintenance operations
Requirements:
- Minimum of four years of diesel mechanic experience
- Direct experience with marine diesel engines
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
Preferred Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of Slack
- Fabrication and welding experience
- Marine Diesel engine experience
- Comfortable using technology, including smartphones and computers
Work Environment:
The Marine Diesel Mechanic will work in a fast-paced environment, often in a noisy and physically demanding setting. The ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, is required.
Physical Demands:
The Marine Diesel Mechanic must be physically able to work a typical workday of 10-14 hours, 5-7 days a week. The ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds is required, as well as the ability to walk on uneven deck surfaces and fit through a 28-inch void hatch.
