Elementary Education Specialist

**About The Position**
The Chestnut Hill School seeks a dedicated and skilled Elementary Education Specialist to join our team. This is a long-term substitute position that requires planning and implementing the reading and writing curriculum for 25 students.
**Responsibilities:**
- In collaboration with grade-level colleagues, plan and implement the academic program by developing engaging lessons, assessments, and activities that cater to diverse learning styles.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all students by maintaining a positive classroom environment and adhering to school policies.
- Support the implementation of the Open Circle curriculum and attend to the social and emotional development of individual students and the class as a whole.
- Develop and administer assessments to evaluate student progress toward learning objectives and provide regular feedback to parents.
- Differentiate teaching methods, assignments, and/or assessments to meet students' needs and promote inclusive learning.
- Maintain a classroom environment that is conducive to student learning and safety by ordering materials and supplies in a timely manner.
- Communicate regularly with families concerning student progress and information about academic programming and classroom events through written reports and conferences.
- Co-plan and co-lead parent-teacher conferences to foster open communication and address any concerns or questions.
- Write narrative progress reports to record and communicate students' progress and growth throughout the year.
- Collaborate with content specialists, classroom interns, or associate teachers to enhance instructional practices and support student learning.
- Manage classroom administrative tasks, including taking daily attendance and ordering materials, efficiently and effectively.
- Perform dismissal, lunch, and recess duties as assigned while ensuring student safety and supervision.
- Support field trips and other activities to enrich the educational experience and promote hands-on learning.
- Attend staff meetings and school professional development as scheduled to stay updated on best practices and initiatives.
- Participate in all-school activities, such as Admissions open houses and other community events, to build relationships and promote the school's mission.
**Requirements:**
- A Master's degree in education or a related field is preferred but not required.
- Experience working with children in this age range and with reading and writing instruction is essential.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and communicate clearly with parents and students.
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and diverse learning environment that values diversity and promotes equity.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary for success in this role.
**What We Offer:
- An estimated salary of $60,000 - $80,000 per year based on experience and qualifications.
