Job Title:

Paramedic (Single Source) FT/PT

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Paramedic to join our team as a single source provider. The successful candidate will provide direct services, individually as a member of a team in response to medical emergencies and provide prehospital advanced life support care to victims of injury and illness.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide prehospital advanced life support care to victims of injury and illness
  • Make medical decisions based on standing orders, protocols, and orders from on and offline medical direction
  • Perform complex diagnostics and medical procedures, including intravenous cannulation, endotracheal intubation, and recognition of cardiac arrhythmias
  • Administer various medications of a controlled or uncontrolled nature
  • Drive and operate apparatus and ambulances, and other department apparatus as assigned
  • Accurately complete written and verbal reports on patient care in accordance with prehospital and departmental policy
  • Perform a thorough, daily inspection of the apparatus to which he/she is assigned and notify the captain of any condition requiring repair or maintenance
  • Ensure that inventory of supplies and equipment is complete and assures that the equipment and apparatus are maintained in good working order
  • Comprehend and document complete and accurate patient histories
  • Participate in training and respond to hazardous materials incidents at the operations level
  • Participate in public education programs in schools, civic programs, and/or groups, and other locations as necessary or requested
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • NREMT - Paramedic (must obtain AZDHS Paramedic certification at time of hire)
  • Arizona class D Driver's License
  • Must maintain driver insurability under tribal insurance
  • ICS 100, 200, 700, 800
  • COVID-19 vaccination record required or an exemption prior to start date
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Associates Degree in fire science, public administration, or related field
  • ICS 300, 400
  • Paramedic Fireline (EMPF)
Working Conditions:

The employee will be exposed to dirt, dust, pollen, odors, wetness, humidity, rain, fumes, temperature and noise extremes, hazardous materials, fire, unsafe structures, heights, confined spaces, machinery, vibrations, electric currents, traffic hazards, bright/dim lights, toxic agents, explosives, firearms, water hazards, violence, disease, and pathogenic substances.

The employee may frequently experience interruption in sleep, meals, and/or other activities.
