Internship Overview: Are you pursuing a degree in accounting and eager to enhance your skills in public accounting? Brown Edwards offers a valuable opportunity for students to collaborate with accomplished accounting professionals, gaining hands-on experience that is essential for career development. During our peak season, you will play a crucial role in managing the increased tax workload for our clients.
Your Responsibilities:
- Digitally archive tax documents using AutoFlow
- Examine and confirm the accuracy of scanned documents
- Assist in the preparation of basic tax returns
- Transfer data from client files into our workpaper systems
- Acquire proficiency in accounting and tax software
- Understand internal CPA practices
- Foster teamwork within a collaborative work environment
- Must be an accounting major aiming for a career in public accounting
- Students in their sophomore, junior, or senior year are encouraged to apply
- Completion of at least one Intermediate accounting course
- Prior coursework in taxation is advantageous
- Minimum GPA of 3.0
- Availability for 15-20 hours per week
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple tasks, and demonstrate critical thinking
- Aspiration to obtain CPA certification and a desire to deepen knowledge in public accounting
- Exhibit initiative, a strong career focus, advanced Excel/IT skills, and professionalism
