Postdoctoral Fellow I

Utah State University is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Postdoctoral Fellow I to join our team in the Department of Wildland Resources. The successful candidate will work closely with our interdisciplinary research team to better understand the impacts of fire on erosion and debris flows, including impacts to transportation corridors.

• Develop and implement a fire severity prediction model in collaboration with PIs and team members.
• Publish lead-author papers related to wildfire research and contribute to co-authored publications.
• Communicate results to stakeholders via web-based forums, stakeholder meetings, and presentations.
• Provide mentoring for graduate and undergraduate students associated with the project.

• PhD in a relevant field (Forestry, Ecology, Biology, or related field).
• Familiarity with fire ecology, fire modeling, and forest ecology.
• Proficiency in ArcGIS and coding in Python, Matlab, and/or R.
• Familiarity with statistics.
