Job SummaryUnder the guidance of our Director of Nursing, you will promote and restore patients' health by completing the nursing process, collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary team members, and providing physical and psychological support to patients, friends, and families.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in carrying out rehabilitation programming and activities for patients, such as the development of social skills and daily living skills.
- Provide personal care services to patients, including oral hygiene, bathing, and hair care as needed, nail care, diapering, and dressing.
- Provide bed care to patients, repositioning, ambulating, and assisting with elimination needs. Moving to and from wheelchairs, etc.
- Administer medications to patients orally, intra-, or via feeding tube subcutaneously.
- Monitor effects of medications and record medication administration and patients' reactions.
- Observe and monitor the movement and activities of patients in their home.
- Assist/review MAR monthly and as needed to ensure accuracy.
- Experience in a pediatric care setting, preferably with medically complex patients.
- Valid RN license issued by the Florida Board of Nursing.
- CPR and First Aid certifications required.
- Ability to pass a Level II background check.
- Ability to regularly lift and carry at least 50 lbs. safely.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Exceptional time management and attention to detail.
- Prompt documentation and reporting skills.
- Knowledge of Registered nursing techniques and methods.
- Knowledge of medications and treatments used in patient care.
- Experience with tube feeding, tracheostomy, wound care, neurological disorders, oxygen dependence, and IV therapy.
- Experience with premature birth, post-discharge care, chronic lung disease care, feeding - suck/swallow, insulin-dependent diabetes, failure to thrive - poor weight gain, immune deficiencies, renal failure, spina bifida, pre/post organ transplant care, genetic disorders, rare disorders, postsurgical long/short-term care, colostomy/ileostomy care.
