Medical Professional for Nutrition and Weight Management

We are seeking a skilled Certified Medical Assistant to join our team in Port Matilda, Pennsylvania. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in an ambulatory setting, utilizing your skills to provide top-notch care to patients.
Job OverviewThis position is perfect for individuals who are passionate about delivering exceptional patient care, working collaboratively with healthcare providers, and contributing to the overall success of our organization.
Responsibilities- Obtain and document patient information: Utilize the rooming tool in our electronic medical record system to collect vital signs, visit screening information, medication review, and other pertinent details for provider review.
- Prepare examination rooms: Ensure all necessary equipment and supplies are available between cases.
- Assist patients: Provide support as needed to prepare patients for visits with providers, ensuring their safety and privacy at all times.
- Provide direct patient care: Perform EKGs, wound dressings, and assist during minor surgical procedures and ancillary examinations, under the direction of the provider.
- Medication administration: Prepare and administer medications according to policy and procedure after validation of knowledge and demonstration of competency.
- Patient testing and treatments: Complete tests and treatments per provider's order, adhering to policy and procedure.
- Laboratory specimen collection: Collect and prepare specimens accurately and efficiently to expedite laboratory studies.
- Phlebotomy and laboratory functions: Perform phlebotomy and assist in specific laboratory functions relative to testing, reporting, and quality assurance of specimens.
- Clerical duties: Support patient care and clinic functioning by performing receptionist tasks, filing reports, and documenting in the electronic medical record.
- Ongoing communication: Facilitate timely appointments, complete referrals and pre-authorizations, cover copayments, and execute ongoing patient communication, prioritizing communications to the provider and responding to patient questions and requests.
- BLS Certification within 6 months
- High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED)
- Minimum of 1 year-related work experience (Preferred)
- Certified by one of the listed governing associations required: NHA, AMT, AAMA, NAHP, NCCT, AAH, or AMCA
