Job Title: Medical Laboratory Scientist

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Scientist to join our team at Dean's Professional Services. As a Medical Laboratory Scientist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of laboratory test results.

Job Summary:

The Medical Laboratory Scientist will be responsible for performing complex medical laboratory tests, analyzing and assuming accountability for accurate test results, maintenance of complicated instruments, and monitoring quality control and quality assurance programs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform laboratory tests and procedures in accordance with established protocols and procedures.
  • Analyze and interpret test results, and report findings to healthcare professionals.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of laboratory tests and results.
  • Ensure the quality and integrity of laboratory tests and results.
  • Collaborate with other laboratory professionals to ensure smooth laboratory operations.
  • Participate in quality control and quality assurance activities to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Stay up-to-date with new technologies and procedures in the field of medical laboratory science.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1-year clinical experience in high complexity testing preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year of clinical laboratory experience in highly complex testing for those with BS/BA in Chemistry or Biology.
  • BS in Medical Technology preferred; or BS/BA in Chemistry or Biology, or associate degree in a Laboratory Science or Medical Technology.
  • Foreign-educated candidates must provide a detailed credential evaluation from IERF (International Education Research Foundation).
  • A successful candidate should possess or be eligible for national certification as an MT / MLT from a recognized organization (ASCP or AMT).
  • Must have the ability to establish work priorities and handle several procedures simultaneously.
  • A solid understanding of basic laboratory testing is required for this position.
  • The successful candidate must possess good computer skills and be able to adapt to working in multiple computer systems.
  • Must have knowledge of QC and QA as well as knowledge of all areas of the laboratory.
  • Contact with clients may be required, good customer service skills are important.
  • Must protect patient confidentiality at all times.
  • Must interact with other departments.
