Respiratory Therapist

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Respiratory Therapist to join our team at Memorial Health University Medical Center. As a vital part of our patient care team, you will provide high-quality, patient-centered respiratory care in accordance with the nature and specific requirements of the department.
Responsibilities- Perform and document patient assessment, including breath sounds, airway patency, and cuff pressure.
- Conduct diagnostic procedures to evaluate the need for, and response to, respiratory therapy.
- Administer respiratory care therapies, including oxygen delivery, aerosol medication delivery, and chest physiotherapy.
- Assist with placement of artificial airways.
- Initiate, monitor, and maintain mechanical ventilation.
- Monitor patient for therapeutic response and notify provider and intervene as appropriate in the event of an unintended response.
- Assist with transportation of ventilator-dependent patients.
- Respond to emergent patient situations and ensure airway integrity and adequate ventilation during resuscitation as required.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within 30 days of employment start date.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification within 30 days of employment start date.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification within 30 days of employment start date.
- State Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification within 60 months of employment start date.
- Associate Degree or Bachelor's Degree in Respiratory Therapy or related field.
