Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Radiation Therapist to join our team at Duke University Hospital. As a Radiation Therapist, you will play a critical role in delivering accurate and safe radiation therapy to patients, working closely with our Radiation Oncology team to ensure the best possible outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer ionizing radiation to patients in accordance with prescriptions and instructions from Radiation Oncologists
  • Prepare patients for treatment, ensuring accurate positioning and immobilization
  • Deliver prescribed doses of radiation, maintaining visual and audible communication with patients during treatment
  • Monitor patients for unusual reactions and report accurate information to nursing staff and Radiation Oncologists
  • Assist in tumor localization procedures, preparation of immobilization devices, and dosimetry procedures
Requirements
  • Satisfactory completion of a 24-month course in radiology technology and a 12-month course in radiation therapy technology, or equivalent experience
  • Current licensure as required by state or national authority and/or certification or board eligibility in Radiation Therapy by the American Registry of Radiology Technology
  • Ability to administer CPR in a medical emergency
