Job SummaryWe are seeking a skilled Radiation Therapist to join our team at Duke University Hospital. As a Radiation Therapist, you will play a critical role in delivering accurate and safe radiation therapy to patients, working closely with our Radiation Oncology team to ensure the best possible outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Administer ionizing radiation to patients in accordance with prescriptions and instructions from Radiation Oncologists
- Prepare patients for treatment, ensuring accurate positioning and immobilization
- Deliver prescribed doses of radiation, maintaining visual and audible communication with patients during treatment
- Monitor patients for unusual reactions and report accurate information to nursing staff and Radiation Oncologists
- Assist in tumor localization procedures, preparation of immobilization devices, and dosimetry procedures
- Satisfactory completion of a 24-month course in radiology technology and a 12-month course in radiation therapy technology, or equivalent experience
- Current licensure as required by state or national authority and/or certification or board eligibility in Radiation Therapy by the American Registry of Radiology Technology
- Ability to administer CPR in a medical emergency
