Job Summary:
The University of New Mexico seeks a skilled Clinical Nurse Leader to provide exceptional patient care and leadership in our ambulatory setting. As a key member of our team, you will utilize the nursing process to deliver safe, high-quality care to patients of all ages. Your clinical expertise and leadership skills will enable you to mentor and guide staff, ensuring seamless patient care and efficient operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with physicians to perform special tests, procedures, and complex treatments
- Process patient data, handle calls, and triage using accurate documentation
- Document lab cultures and follow up on abnormal results, ensuring timely interventions
- Assess patient conditions, provide nursing care, and ensure physician orders are carried out
- Participate in the orientation and evaluation of new personnel, promoting a culture of excellence
- Provide patient education on preventive care and medical issues, empowering patients to take control of their health
- Demonstrate a proactive approach to patient safety, reporting potential concerns and contributing to a safe environment
Requirements:
- Graduate of a nationally accredited nursing program and RN licensure in the state of practice
- Nationally accredited nursing graduate preferred
- Three years of directly related experience preferred
- CPR for Healthcare/BLS certification required
