Behavioral Health Nursing Professional

Avera Behavioral Health Center is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our multidisciplinary team. As a Senior Unit Registered Nurse, you will provide high-quality nursing care in a dynamic environment focused on behavioral health.
This role involves managing patient care, including complex medical and mental health needs, and fostering a positive environment for older adults with varying levels of functioning. Career Highlights:- Manage the hospital and nursing home infection prevention program in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations.
- Collaborate with the Department Director to solve unit problems, ensure adequate staff, provide training experiences, evaluate equipment and supply purchases, and improve unit processes.
- Develop therapeutic skills that can be applied in any setting of nursing.
- Enhance interpersonal skills while performing duties such as IVs, blood draws, catheter insertions, respiratory treatments, and wound care.
- Work with a dynamic and comprehensive team that includes physicians, social workers, case management, patient care techs, expressive therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, physical, occupational, and speech therapy.
- Graduate of a registered nursing (RN) education program.
- Current RN licensure in the state of South Dakota or 'multi-state privilege' to practice in South Dakota if residing in a compact state outside of South Dakota.
- Current CPR, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certification or completion upon next available program.
Compensation: The hourly range for this position is $32.00 - $46.50 per hour, dependent upon experience.
