Job Summary

The Denver Health APP Post-graduate Fellowship in Behavioral Health is a 12-month program designed to provide an intense, well-rounded clinical and didactic training experience for APPs. The fellowship aims to develop APPs with expertise in the clinical care of patients with psychiatric and substance use disorders.

Fellows will engage in core training in behavioral health, rotating through four core training areas: inpatient psychiatry, psychiatric emergency services, corrections, and outpatient behavioral health. In addition to rotational experience, APP fellows will participate in weekly seminars, case conferences, faculty meetings, and grand rounds.

Upon completion of this program, APP fellows will have the knowledge and skills necessary to make them successful practitioners of behavioral health in a variety of clinical settings. PAs will be prepared to apply for the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) Psychiatry Certificate of Added Qualification (CAQ).

NPs are required to be board certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) as a PMHNP. The fellowship values a diverse workforce and is committed to providing equal treatment and equal employment opportunities to all applicants and employees.

Applicants will be considered until the position is filled. Please submit the following documents: current curriculum vitae, three professional letters of recommendation, and a personal statement.

Graduation from an approved Physician Assistant Training Program approved by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) is required. Official transcript from the PA program, certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistant (PANCE), and a Colorado license will be required prior to start date. DEA license must be obtained within 90 days of starting the program.

For Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner eligibility, graduation from an accredited Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) program that is accredited by a nationally recognized organization, such as the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) and/or the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), is required. Official transcript from the NP program, PMHNP Certification from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), and a Colorado license will be required prior to start date. DEA license must be obtained within 90 days of starting the program.
