The Office of the New York State Attorney General (OAG) is seeking candidates for the Attorney General Fellowship Program designed for law school graduates. This program offers a unique opportunity to engage in public service law.

Program Overview:

This is a comprehensive two-year fellowship for six law school graduates, providing invaluable experience in public service law. The program includes:

  • Hands-on legal experience through investigations and litigation.
  • Training and mentorship from experienced attorneys.
  • Opportunities to work on community outreach and public education initiatives.

Placement Locations:

Fellows will be placed in various locations, including Albany and New York City, with assignments tailored to the needs of the OAG and the preferences of the fellows.

Compensation and Benefits:

Fellows receive a competitive annual salary of $81,159, with additional location-based pay where applicable. Benefits include:

Candidate Profile:

We are looking for individuals who demonstrate a strong commitment to public service and possess:

  • Excellent legal writing and analytical skills.

Fluency in additional languages is advantageous but not mandatory. We encourage applications from individuals who are underrepresented in the legal profession.

Eligibility Criteria:

To qualify for the fellowship, candidates must:

  • Be graduating from a JD program.
  • Be eligible for admission to the New York State Bar.
  • Reside in or plan to become a resident of New York State.
