Vista Del Mar Child & Family Services is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Teacher's Assistant - Non-Public School (NPS) - Vista School to join our team. As a key member of our educational staff, you will play a vital role in supporting the development and implementation of curriculum and behavior modification systems for emotionally disturbed children and adolescents.
Key Responsibilities- Assist the teacher in developing and carrying out curriculum and behavior modification systems for emotionally disturbed children and adolescents.
- Work effectively with the teacher and other school staff to maintain consistent behavior management programs and academic curriculum.
- Collect and analyze data for Treatment Plan Reviews, NPS Progress Reports, and other data regarding students as needed.
- Interact and intervene with students effectively, developing a positive and appropriate rapport with students, treating them with respect, and actively engaging and intervening with students.
- Assist the teacher in the development, writing, and administering of lesson plans and quizzes/tests when necessary, and grading student assignments.
- Provide 1:1 assistance to students and work with students in small groups.
- Maintain constant supervision of students in the classroom, before/after school, during snack, and during lunch.
- Bachelor's degree minimum.
- Valid California driver's license and current automobile insurance.
- California Basic Educational Skills Test (CBEST) certification or 30-day Substitute Credential.
- Experience with autistic and/or emotionally disturbed children preferred but not mandatory.
- Full benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision coverage.
- FSA/Dependent Care and Supplemental benefits through The Standard.
- 403(b) retirement plan with 3% employer contribution based on annual salary.
- Four mental health days per year.
