Asphalt Paving Machine Operator

Holcim US, a leading supplier of quality construction building materials in the United States, has immediate openings for an Asphalt Paver to support the operations in the Asphalt division. This position will be responsible for monitoring, directing, and coordinating activities of project personnel to ensure projects progress on schedule and within prescribed budget. The successful candidate will coordinate and collaborate with project managers, superintendents, general contractors, and customers to implement successful project plans. Additionally, the individual will be responsible for scheduling, coordinating, and supervising the work of all site operatives, ensuring that all work is delivered safely on time and within budget, along with managing equipment and materials required.
Key Responsibilities
Offloading trucks and gathering tools for the day
Maintaining constant visual contact with screed operators, dump men, and trucks in front of the paver
Transporting rakes, lutes, shovels, and spray cans to the paver
Sweeping and cleaning the area in front of the paver
Performing general laborer duties as assigned
Measuring and lining out the area for the day's paving
Working as a flagger to direct motorists away from the work zone
Transporting water to the rollers, power broom, and plate compactor
Building a launchpad for the paver at the beginning of the pull
Assisting the screed operator
Shoveling material out to the end gate
Maintaining cleanliness and packing equipment away at the end of the day
Requirements
High school diploma
At least 2 years of related work experience
Ability to lead by example and ensure that all team members live by Holcim's core values
Excellent communication skills to convey information to others effectively
1 year experience as an asphalt laborer or flagger
Knowledge of road and traffic regulations
Ability to work as part of a team
Ability to work on weekends, public holidays, and at night
Ability to travel to wherever the job is needed
Ability to work for long hours in all weather conditions
Ability to stand for extended periods of time
