Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and Develop Firmware: Modify and expand existing firmware to meet marketing needs, develop firmware for embedded software solutions using an IDE, and adhere to project development and product evolution tools and processes.
  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Review firmware designs with peers for quality and project maturity, provide post-product maintenance and customer support, collaborate with QA team for developmental tests on new products, and collaborate with 3rd party certification agencies like UL.
  • Research and Development: Research and develop firmware and hardware combinations for new designs, and stay up-to-date with industry trends and technologies.
  • Requirements:
    • Education: Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, software engineering, computer science, or related field.
    • Experience: 5+ years of experience in software development and embedded firmware design, experience with embedded Linux application engineering, and proficiency in C, C++, Python, and Rust programming languages.
    • Skills: Experience in digital signal processing and Linux kernel debugging, experience with custom network protocols integration, and experience working in a process-driven environment.
  • Compensation and Benefits: Volt offers a competitive salary range of $70/hr. to $75/hr., and a range of benefits including health, dental, vision, and more.
