Registered Nurse Role

Overview of Responsibilities: Under the guidance of the Director of Clinical Services, the Registered Nurse is accountable for delivering high-quality patient care, collaborating with fellow nursing professionals, and managing the designated unit during assigned shifts.

  • Conducts comprehensive patient evaluations utilizing the nursing process, formulates a care strategy, and partners with various departments to ensure seamless care delivery.
  • Maintains precise documentation of patient care and upholds accurate medical records.
  • Oversees bedside care, administers prescribed medications, and guarantees the safe disposal of pharmaceutical waste.
  • Engages with physicians, patients, and their families to provide emotional support and facilitate discharge planning.
  • Aids in the orientation of new personnel and exemplifies best practices as a role model when necessary.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND:

  • Completion of a nursing diploma, associate degree, or baccalaureate degree is mandatory.

CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:

  • Active RN licensure in Tennessee is essential.
  • BLS and ACLS certifications must be obtained during the orientation phase.
  • Additional certifications may be necessary.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:

  • A minimum of one year of recent hospital experience is required.

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:

  • Expertise in nursing principles and methodologies.
  • Familiarity with hospital policies and operational procedures.
  • Basic computer proficiency is preferred.
