Job Summary

The Product Characterization Engineer plays a critical role in the development of cutting-edge CMOS imaging technology at OMNIVISION. This position requires a strong analytical mindset, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced R&D environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the development of CMOS imaging technology through detailed scientific characterization and analysis.
  • Conduct comprehensive electrical and optical characterization of various CMOS image sensors.
  • Debug and resolve problems in new and existing pixel designs, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with the Process Integration/Layout design and Process Simulation team to characterize new designs and processes, and suggest new process experiments based on characterization data.
  • Provide critical feedback to inter-disciplinary teams on silicon data related to pixel designs and process designs.
  • Work with the test engineering team to develop automated wafer-level characterization programs and special test routines in C++/Matlab.
  • Partner with Production and QA teams to resolve yield issues related to pixel performance.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in characterization and designing integrated circuit systems, including imagers, DRAM, processors, and other related technologies.
  • Strong knowledge of Analog/Mixed Signal/Digital CMOS circuits, CMOS fabrication process, and CMOS device physics.
  • Experience with CMOS image sensor characterization and design is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in C++/Perl/Python/MATLAB, Layout/Simulation tools, and color technology is a plus.
  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field, or equivalent work experience; a Ph.D. is highly valued.

Compensation

The annual base salary for this role in California, US is expected to be between $120,600 - $150,200. Actual pay will be determined by relevant skills and experience, as well as the pay of employees in similar roles.
