Job Summary

The MRI Technologist operates MRI machinery under general supervision, ensuring patient safety while producing diagnostic images. Key responsibilities include:

  • Operating MRI equipment to capture images of specified body areas, adjusting both the equipment and patient positioning as necessary.
  • Instructing patients on procedures and ensuring their comfort throughout the imaging process.
  • Maintaining accurate records and data management for imaging results.
  • Implementing sterile techniques to prevent contamination and ensuring a clean work environment.
  • Exhibiting exemplary customer service skills throughout patient interactions.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education:

  • High School Diploma required; an Associate Degree in Radiological Technology is preferred.
  • Certification from an accredited Radiology program is required.

Licensure/Certification:

  • BCLS certification is mandatory.
  • Registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and post-primary certification in MRI within six months of hire is required.

Experience:

Prior MRI experience is preferred, with the ability to demonstrate proficiency in specialized areas beyond routine radiography.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to determine optimal imaging sequences and protocols.
  • Competence in evaluating images for quality and technique.
  • Discretion and sound judgment during MRI procedures.
  • Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and safety protocols related to radiography.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
