Patient Access Associate I/Registration Specialist

Holy Rosary Hospital in Miles City, Montana is seeking a Patient Access Associate I/Registration Specialist to join our team. This role plays a critical part in the registration process, ensuring accurate and efficient patient information collection.
As a Patient Access Associate I/Registration Specialist, you will be responsible for registering patients, confirming demographic data, and obtaining necessary signatures. You will also verify insurance coverage, determine coordination of benefits, and complete Medicare Secondary Payer (MSP) questionnaires when applicable.
This is a PRN position, with varying shifts including day and mid-shift. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication abilities. Prior experience in the hospitality or service industry is preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
- Register patients, confirm demographic data, and obtain necessary signatures
- Verify insurance coverage, determine coordination of benefits, and complete MSP questionnaires as needed
- Screen for non-covered services, process waivers, and coordinate referrals
- Collect patient payments, reconcile receipts, and post payments in the system
- Document patient account notes, maintain departmental work queues, and escalate unresolved issues
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail required
- At least one year of experience in the hospitality or service industry preferred
