Job SummaryWe are seeking a skilled Bakery Specialist to join our team at Festival Foods. As a key member of our bakery team, you will be responsible for producing high-quality bakery and pastry items, providing excellent customer service, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
Key Responsibilities- Recipe and Production Control: Follow established recipes and production lists to ensure high-quality bakery and pastry items. Monitor dates and freshness, handle outdated items properly, and report shrinkage.
- Health and Safety: Adhere to all Health Department guidelines and Festival sanitation practices. Maintain cleanliness and organization in prep areas, coolers, freezers, and dry storage.
- Guest Service: Provide exceptional customer service by assisting guests with finding items, taking special orders, and addressing concerns. Answer phone calls with proper etiquette and ensure guest satisfaction.
- Stock Monitoring: Monitor stock levels and service floor needs, ensuring proper assortment and production levels, especially for early mornings and evenings.
- Quality Standards: Maintain food safety logs and ensure all quality standards, including quantity expectations, are met by 10 am and 5 pm daily.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with all Bakery associates to meet department goals and support a positive team environment.
- Honor Commitments: Regular, timely attendance in compliance with the work schedule, and adequate notice to find a replacement for occasional absences.
- Support the Team: Other duties as assigned.
- Customer Focus: Ability to deal tactfully and effectively with guests and all personnel.
- Effective Problem-Solving: Ability to quickly assess and resolve issues in a dynamic and stressful work environment, while supporting team members.
- Safety Awareness: Comprehensive understanding of safety requirements and company safety policies, including proper training on ovens, lifting techniques, trash compactor, baler, mixers, slicing and packaging machinery, and other equipment.
- Retail Expertise: Knowledge of the retail food business and perishable department operations, with the ability to make timely and effective decisions.
- Physical Demands: Stand in one spot for a long period of time; bend, stoop, and kneel regularly (70% of the time). Full range of upper body motion. Lift up to 60 pounds on a frequent basis (50% of the time). Frequent repetitive motion of hands and wrists.
- Work Environment: Occasional exposure to extreme temperatures (20% of the time). Frequently near moving machinery (70% of the time).

- Weekly Pay & Premium Pay: Hourly associates are paid weekly, providing more frequent access to their funds. Part-time store associates are paid a $1 premium per hour on Sundays and select holidays. Hourly full-time store associates receive time and a half on Sundays and select holidays.
- Two-Week Advanced Scheduling: Better Planning. Better Balance. We provide our associates with their schedules two weeks in advance, offering greater predictability & flexibility.
- Vision & Dental Insurance: Part-time and full-time associates are eligible for vision insurance and two dental coverage options that are designed to fit your needs.

Associates are given shares based on their years of service and earnings.
