Job Overview

2nd Shift CNC Operator

We are in search of a dedicated CNC Operator who will focus on enhancing processes and validating new designs. This position requires a keen eye for quality, as all items are custom-manufactured and machined internally. The ideal candidate will work closely with operators to ensure the accuracy of designs throughout each production phase.

A key responsibility of this role involves operating two state-of-the-art, large-scale CNC machines, each towering two stories high and featuring a platform measuring 30 feet by 30 feet. These machines are equipped with tooling valued at over $2 million and play a vital role in our operations. The operator will primarily work with materials such as cast iron and steel, along with other metals like brass and bronze.

Essential Skills:

  • Hourly wage of $28-31
  • Completion of CNC training with practical setups
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings
  • Experience with offsets and tool changes
  • Capability to conduct quality inspections using both manual and digital gauges
  • Hourly wage of $32-35
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in 3+-axis CNC setups, preferably with lathes
  • Adept at performing complex setups
  • Experience in preparing for long production runs
  • Ability to manage multiple machines simultaneously for efficient production

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with 5-axis setups
  • Ability to operate manual machinery
  • Familiarity with surface grinders, JIG grinders, and various milling machines
  • Experience with vintage manual gear machines
  • Capability to make program adjustments
