Medical Laboratory Technologist/Clinical Laboratory Scientist

The Medical Laboratory Technologist/Clinical Laboratory Scientist will be responsible for performing a variety of laboratory tests and procedures to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. This includes collecting, transporting, processing, and evaluating specimens for all laboratory sections. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in clinical chemistry and toxicology, as well as experience with automated and semi-automated instruments.
Responsibilities
Perform routine and STAT testing on blood, urine, and other body fluids
Collect, transport, process, and evaluate specimens for all laboratory sections
Perform clinical chemistry and toxicology on automated and semi-automated instruments
Store and prepare reagents, standards, and calibrators
Maintain, calibrate, clean, and effect repairs of laboratory equipment and instrumentation
Document functions and inform supervisory staff of any problems encountered
Prepare, test, record, and interpret quality control materials
Take corrective action for out-of-control results and immediately notify supervisory staff of any problems encountered
Test, verify, and report patient test results in accordance with established protocols
Requirements
24 months of experience as a Medical Technologist/Clinical Laboratory Scientist with Generalist experience
B.S. degree in Medical Technology or one of the Biological Sciences (Biology, Microbiology, Chemistry, etc.) from an accredited college or university
Certification in Medical Technology by the appropriate agency
Certification from the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) or American Medical Technologist (AMT)
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Current and up-to-date immunization records, including COVID vaccinations
Language Requirements and Cultural Awareness
Read, understand, speak, and write English to effectively communicate with patients and other healthcare workers
Be respectful of the local, American Indian, and Alaska Native culture
