Research and Development Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled Research and Development Technician to join our team at Chemours Experimental Station Operations. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for operating high hazard chemical processes, troubleshooting and maintaining equipment, and ensuring the safe execution of laboratory work.
Responsibilities:- Operate high hazard chemical processes at various scales, including polymerizations, batch and continuous reactions, distillations, and supporting utility operations.
- Handle and manipulate chemicals, including compressed gas cylinders, 55-gallon drums, and half-ton cylinders.
- Manage and execute laboratory work involving wet chemistry experiments with corrosive, toxic, and flammable chemicals.
- Monitor and adjust chemical processes using automated instrumentation and control systems.
- Document and audit operating, safety, and environmental requirements.
- Troubleshoot chemical reactions, mechanical processes, controls, analytical, or laboratory issues.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1-2 years of industrial or manufacturing experience.
- Understanding of basic chemistry and math principles.
- Effective written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to read and understand complex Standard Operating Procedures.
- Self-motivation and ability to work independently.
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications, including data entry.
- Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and work in close quarters.
- Ability to lift 45 pounds and move drums/containers using correct ergonomic methods.
- Associates degree or higher in chemical process operation or chemistry.
- Familiarity with various chemical process unit operations.
- Ability to read and understand Process and Instrument Drawing (P&ID).
- Knowledge of process control and instrumentation concepts.
