We are seeking an experienced Dental Surgical Assistant to join our team at Cambridge Dental Consulting Group. As a key member of our oral surgery team, you will assist our dentists during surgical procedures, ensuring the highest level of patient care and safety.
Responsibilities:- Assist dentists during surgical procedures, including tray and surgical set-up, chairside assistance, and infection control.
- Prepare and arrange necessary tools and instruments for scheduled procedures.
- Hand instruments and materials to the dentist and maintain patient comfort and safety.
- Sterilize and disinfect instruments and equipment, and instruct patients on postoperative instructions.
- Take dental X-rays and CT scans as needed.
- May take patient medical history and vital signs.
- High School Diploma (HSD) or equivalent.
- At least 1 year of experience as a dental assistant, with experience in oral surgery preferred.
- Phlebotomy certification helpful.
- Previous experience with practice management software, such as Dentrix or Dentrix Enterprise, preferred.
- CPR certification required.
This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent interruptions and varying situations. The employee must be able to remain in the work area for several hours at a time and be able to lift up to 20 pounds. The work environment is subject to exposure to blood, chemicals, and cleaning supplies.
This position is categorized as OSHA Category I: Personnel who engage in activities normally with exposure to blood or bodily fluids.
