Operations Manager

Are you prepared to oversee the operational activities at Johnny's Selected Seeds? As an Operations Manager, you will lead the charge in driving processes, managing various departments, and mentoring a team of supervisors towards achieving operational excellence. Your responsibilities will include cost optimization, efficiency enhancement, safety assurance, quality maintenance, and improving the overall customer experience while adhering to regulatory standards. Additionally, you will play a vital role in fostering positive employee relations and initiating significant organizational changes. Your dynamic responsibilities will encompass managing multiple departments, including receiving, seed packing, inventory, warehouse, shipping, and local customer pickup.

Key ResponsibilitiesDirect and manage departmental operations, from receiving to fulfillment, to ensure efficient same-day shipping for all orders.Maintain optimal staffing levels to consistently meet production SLAs and KPI targets.Commit to fostering a safe, productive, and positive work environment.Seamlessly coordinate workflow between departments to ensure effective resource utilization.Assess departmental capacity and skills to align resources with organizational objectives.Enhance employee relations and engagement through effective communication and training initiatives.Identify and develop talent within the team for career advancement opportunities.Provide operational support to tackle day-to-day challenges and drive both short-term and long-term goals.Lead initiatives in work redesign to achieve operational excellence.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support continuous improvement projects.Monitor departmental KPIs and assist in budget formulation.Promote a Change Management approach to facilitate the adoption of new processes and technologies.Ensure efficient merchandise flow through the distribution center.Occasional off-shift and weekend support may be necessary.Qualifications & SkillsBachelor's degree in operations management or equivalent experience required.Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.Familiarity with budget management, process improvement, and standard operating procedures.Proficiency in MS Office applications and warehouse management systems.Strong leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills.Prior experience in warehouse management and timekeeping systems.Collaborative team player dedicated to cross-departmental cooperation.Physical RequirementsRegular on-site attendance and ability to work on the production floor.Capability to sit for extended periods in front of a computer.Occasional operation of forklift and manufacturing equipment.Ability to lift up to 40lbs and perform physical tasks as needed.Flexibility to bend, crouch, kneel, and utilize fine motor skills.BenefitsHealth/Dental/Vision InsuranceEmployee Stock Ownership Plan & Profit Sharing401(k) and Employee DiscountMaternity/Paternity/Adoption & Foster Care LeaveCompany Paid Short-Term/Long-Term Disability and Paid Time OffEducational AssistanceAbout Johnny's Selected Seeds
