Phlebotomist Technician

Avera, a leading health system, is seeking a skilled Phlebotomist Technician to join our team at the Avera Medical Group Family Health Center - Dawley Farm Lab in Sioux Falls, SD.

About the Role:

• We provide a structured hands-on training program to ensure our Phlebotomists have the skills and knowledge needed to excel in this role.
• Gain valuable patient care experience by collecting blood from patients according to established standards and procedures.
• Work directly with patients, making a positive impact on their lives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection following approved techniques and policies for hospital inpatients and clinic outpatients.
• Organize specimen collection requests, perform patient clinical laboratory specimen collection procedures, specimen transport, specimen processing, testing dispersal, point-of-care testing procedures, and other pre-analytic functions following established standards and practices.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
• Six months to one year related experience and/or training preferred.
• Certification as a Phlebotomist Technician (PBT) from the ASCP preferred.

Pay:

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.

• $17.50 - $23.00 per hour
