Our hospital is equipped with 6 state-of-the-art operating rooms and 24 inpatient accommodations, specializing in joint replacements, orthopaedic surgeries, pain management, spine interventions, and various sports medicine procedures.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Registered Nurse serves as a patient advocate, ensuring a seamless continuum of care tailored to meet the unique needs of each patient. This role involves collaboration with the healthcare team to uphold the facility's mission, objectives, and standards. The nurse is tasked with evaluating the requirements of patients across various age groups, including adults, adolescents, and the elderly.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Active PA Registered Nurse License
- At least 3 years of experience as an Inpatient Registered Nurse
- Experience in Orthopaedics is advantageous
- BLS/ACLS Certification required
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide immediate acknowledgment to patients by making eye contact, smiling, and using their names when possible.
- Greet and assist individuals in hallways and common areas, offering directions and escorting them if necessary. Answer phone calls with a friendly demeanor, identifying your department and yourself.
- Keep patients and their families informed about their care progress, addressing any delays and providing estimated timelines for resolution.
- Engage in active listening, communicating in a manner that is suitable for the patient.
- Anticipate patient needs to reduce the reliance on call lights, responding to call lights within one minute.
- Deliver nursing care based on established patient care standards, prioritizing care according to the patient's immediate condition.
- Involve the patient and/or significant others in care decisions, collaborating with them, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
- Initiate and maintain the Nursing Care Plan, identifying patient issues, expected outcomes, and nursing interventions.
- Document patient responses to treatments and nursing actions accurately in the patient care record, including medications and discharge instructions.
