The State of Colorado is seeking a highly skilled Behavior Technician to join our team at the Wheat Ridge Regional Center. As a Behavior Technician, you will play a critical role in providing quality health care, personal hygiene maintenance, and an active learning atmosphere for adults with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities and co-occurring mental health concerns.
Key Responsibilities- Implement behavior analytic services for residents served at the Regional Centers.
- Implement programs directly with residents and train data collection systems and behavioral interventions to Direct Support Professionals.
- Engage in data collection through an Electronic Health Record or physical data collection based on guidance from the supervising Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).
- Implement preference assessments and skill acquisition programs to promote learning opportunities through the usage of behavior analytic concepts for residents served.
- Facilitate the delivery of highly preferred items that may function as reinforcement for desirable behaviors.
- Implement behavior reduction programs, including antecedent and consequent intervention strategies, outlined by supervising BCBA.
- Document outcome of treatments and program implementation timely and accurately.
- Provide onsite training and monitoring of direct care staff to ensure that all aspects of the individual's vocational/work life are being served and to ensure timely and accurate implementation of program plans as identified in the Individual's behavior plan.
- Identify training needs and initiate requests for training from professional staff as needed.
- A high school diploma or GED.
- Two (2) years of experience in an occupational field related to the work assigned to the position.
- Current and valid Registered Behavioral Technician (RBT) certification or an inactive Registered Behavioral Technician (RBT) certification with the ability to reactivate at the start of employment.
- Experience working with co-occurring IDD and mental health concerns.
- Experience working with adults in services.
This position requires working with confidential information and may come into contact with vulnerable populations. Pre-employment screening, including fingerprinting, polygraph, drug screen, physical exam, and an extensive background investigation, will be conducted as part of the selection process. Felony convictions or conviction of crimes of moral turpitude or convictions of misdemeanors related to job duties may disqualify you from being considered for this position.
