Teaching Opportunity at Unity House of Troy

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to join our team at Unity House of Troy. As a member of our Special Education Department, you will play a vital role in supporting the educational and behavioral needs of young children with special needs in our Preschool Special Education classroom.

Responsibilities:
  • Assess the educational and behavioral needs of children with special needs
  • Develop and implement individualized plans to address these needs
  • Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to support the entire classroom
  • Work collaboratively with all staff and administration to benefit the needs of all children
  • Perform student assessments and evaluations as required
  • Promote a classroom of inclusion and belonging
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Special Education or related field
  • Certification in Students with Disabilities Birth to Grade 2 preferred
  • Associate level encouraged to apply
  • Proficient writing and computer skills
  • Ability to support behavior plans
  • Reliable transportation and clean/valid NYS driver's license
