Job Summary:

Your expertise in performing diagnostic procedures using ultrasound waves will enable you to provide quality images for interpretation, working closely with our team to ensure that patients receive the highest level of care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform diagnostic procedures on patients using ultrasound waves to examine tissue and body structure.
  • Set up and adjust equipment and manually maneuver transducers to perform exams.
  • Implement safety standards and perform quality control procedures to ensure accurate and reliable results.
  • Perform routine and complex studies, and assist in a variety of imaging procedures to support patient care.
  • Recognize significant structures, artifacts, pathology, and equipment limitations to ensure accurate image interpretation.
  • Ensure equipment is properly functioning and report potential problems or equipment malfunctions to appropriate personnel.
  • Ensure prompt submission of all high-quality images and documents sent to PACS for further analysis.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly department, including procedure rooms, storage areas, dressing rooms, and other areas to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Maintain compliance with regulatory agencies and industry standards to ensure adherence to best practices.
  • Work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner to ensure patient safety and well-being.
Requirements and Qualifications:
  • Completion of a Sonography certification program.
  • No experience required, but a strong foundation in medical imaging and patient care is essential.
Physical Requirements:
  • Constant standing and walking to perform procedures and move around the department.
  • Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near and far to accurately perform procedures.
  • Frequent use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication with patients and colleagues.
  • Frequent use of hearing to distinguish body sounds and/or hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc.
  • Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs to move equipment and supplies.
  • Frequent lifting/moving of patients to ensure safe and comfortable positioning.
  • Frequent reaching, gripping, and keyboard use/data entry to perform administrative tasks.
  • Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs to move heavy equipment or supplies.
  • Occasional use of vision to identify and distinguish colors to accurately perform procedures.
  • Occasional bending, stooping, squatting, twisting, and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements to perform procedures and move around the department.
  • Rare kneeling and sitting to perform procedures or take breaks.
Required Professional Licenses and Certifications:
  • Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) - American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) with Abdomen (AB) Specialty - American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS).
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) with Breast (BR) Specialty - American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS).
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) with Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB/GYN) Specialty - American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS).
