Position Overview:


Beach Cities Learning is seeking a dedicated full-time Special Education Instructor or a Teacher Intern to join our team. This role is pivotal in fostering an educational environment where students can thrive academically and emotionally.

As a certified K-12 Private Day School, we are approved by the California Department of Education to deliver Special Education Services across various disability categories, including Autism, Emotional Disabilities, and Specific Learning Disabilities.


Our institution employs a structured Positive Behavioral Supports program aimed at enhancing students' academic and social-emotional skills. Our educators are trained in a specialized methodology that promotes positive decision-making among students.

Key Responsibilities:


Special Education Instructors are responsible for creating a supportive educational atmosphere that encourages students to reach their full potential in various aspects of growth.

This role involves organizing and executing individualized instructional programs tailored to help students achieve academic success while adhering to established policies.


Specific duties include:

  • Developing and implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students.
  • Designing instructional activities that engage students in meaningful learning experiences.
  • Identifying and adapting instructional resources to accommodate diverse learning styles and special needs.
  • Assessing curricular needs and proposing enhancements.
  • Fostering a positive learning environment that encourages active student participation.

Qualifications:

Applicants must possess a valid California Education Specialist Instruction Credential (Mild to Moderate Disabilities) or the ability to enroll in a Special Education program while working as a full-time Teacher Intern.

A Bachelor's degree is required, along with a preference for candidates with experience working with students with emotional disabilities. Proficiency in Spanish is advantageous but not mandatory.
