About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused Cashier to join our team at City Market. As a Cashier, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, processing transactions efficiently, and maintaining a safe and clean environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide outstanding customer service by greeting, engaging, and assisting customers in a timely and professional manner.
  • Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently, handling various payment methods and tenders.
  • Understand and adhere to company policies and procedures, including cash handling, pricing, and inventory management.
  • Work effectively to control loss and maintain a safe and clean environment.
  • Stay current with present, future, seasonal, and special ads to provide customers with relevant information.
  • Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines to ensure a safe shopping environment.
  • Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and identifying unsafe conditions, accidents, or issues.
  • Practice preventive maintenance by properly inspecting equipment and notifying the appropriate department or store manager of any items in need of repair.
  • Create an environment that enables customers to feel welcome, important, and appreciated by answering questions regarding products sold within the department and throughout the store.
  • Adhere to all local, state, and federal laws, and company guidelines.
Requirements
  • Customer service experience
  • Ability to handle stressful situations
  • Effective communication skills
  • Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction)
